Crave's Little Bird and the stories the Sixties Scoop left behind

Little Bird is cinematic television because it serves as an invitation demanding viewers to sit with discomfort and confront a chapter of Canadian history that is far too often ignored. Created by Jennifer Podemski and Hannah Moscovitch, and produced jointly by Crave and APTN, the six-part limited series premiered in May 2023.

Waterproof mascara. Long-wear foundation. Smudge-proof lipstick. For many consumers, durability is non-negotiable. Some students rethink what's on their plates in the name of sustainability

A video of a rescued dog first made Avery Plivelic question the food on her plate. 'It wasn't graphic or gruesome,' she said. 'It just showed a dog being rescued, learning, and discovering her personality. I thought, Wow, animals aren't that different from me.' For Plivelic, then 12, the realization sparked a shift in her values.

The scariest part of 'Sinners' (2025) isn't the vampires, it's history

Sinners (2025) is most effective not as a simple horror movie, but as an allegorical exploration of America's sins: racism, poverty and violence. Director Ryan Coogler uses the supernatural to amplify, not distract from, history. Set in the Mississippi Delta of 1932, during the height of Jim Crow laws, the film depicts Black communities facing systemic oppression, racial terror and violence.

"This is me"

I'm a reporter for The Chronicle at Durham College and an intern with Metroland's York newsroom, where I cover news, entertainment, and features for print and digital platforms. I conduct interviews, produce photography and video, and create social media content that complements my written work.

My reporting spans news, arts & culture, social issues, digital trends, politics, music & film, and more. I'm drawn to stories that sit at the intersection of people, culture, and the moment we're living in.

I'm completing a Journalism diploma at Durham College (2024–2026) alongside a bachelor's in Media Studies at Trent University (2023–2026). I've fully funded my education independently, which has shaped my work ethic and resilience. I thrive on chasing leads, meeting tight deadlines, and showing up wherever the story unfolds.

Beyond reporting, I bring hands-on experience in communications and creative production. I shoot photography and video, edit in Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro, design in Canva, and manage social media campaigns across Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and LinkedIn. I specialize in multi-platform storytelling — whether through written features, breaking news, podcasts, visual content, or digital campaigns.

Growing up between Panama and Canada gave me a global perspective and a deep respect for diverse communities. My brand is simple: thoughtful, reliable, and human. I tell stories that inform, connect, and leave a lasting impact.
